The first china works in Derby opened in 1750, It became "The Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Company" in 1775. The first paperweights were produced in 1981 with the production of six designs, Penguin, Quail, Wren, Owl, duck and the Rabbit Over the years the range has increased vastly with several limited editions and retirements.
